INTERVIEWS
BRYAN AZUCENA
(Actor, Yori)
What's your background?
I've been filming for about 4 Years so far.
Acted for about 7 years from High School til Now.
Danced since I found out what Dancing was.
I never trained at an Academy or a school for Gifted people. I was just a kid who just went to school and tried to impress a girl. Next thing I performed In NY, WolfTrap, Pentagon, and Disney though friends and chances!
Did you know the story of the 442nd Regimental Unit?
During World War II, the US government put Japanese-Americans in internment camps, located at Pacific coast, because the US feared they might be loyal to Japan. The 442nd Combat Team was created in 1943. The enlisted was made entirely of Americans of Japanese ancestry. Having been born in the United States, all of the men are citizens of the United States.
Why is this part of history important to keep alive, with both adults and youth?
It is important to remember the past to prevent any terrible repeats of the past. What's also important is to remember those who made sacrifices, their very lives, to ensure freedom and peace. Some have accomplished great deeds and some are famous because they knew what was right for their country.
What do you think is the place of the theatre arts in telling our history?
I believe that Theatre has a place in history, the events and emotions can be easily translated and told for many years. Passed down from decades to generations.
If you could be an animal, what would it be and why?
A Water Bear! Tardigrade!
Cause science :D
Though he may be Tiny and unnoticeable by anyone/anything in the Wild. it has a special talent that proves it is truly the most amazing. It can survive the intensity heat of the volcano to the Coldness of Antarctica...Even withstand the emptiness of Space without any harm!
It seems like it can do the impossible through self belief despite what anyone thinks negatively
